Sorry if I've been a little MIA the past few days. I got real sick, and it happened real fast. I had a nice weekend...my work Christmas party with Wes, some shopping on Saturday, church and a little more shopping on Sunday.

We got home Sunday afternoon, wrapped some gifts, and I started feeling funny. Sore throat, then feverish (hot/cold/chills), and it was all kinda downhill from there. The next few days are a blur in my mind. Wes says I was a zombie. All I know is that it hurt to move, and I couldn't breathe, I threw up anything I tried to eat, and my throat hurt. So I stayed in bed, all doped up on medicine that Wes got me during multiple pharmacy runs (bless him). I also didn't shower for like 3 days...yuck. I looked like a total wreck by Wednesday, when I tried to shower and go to work. I succeeded...sort of. I also lost about 5 pounds, according to the scale.

But the weird part is really how I feel NOW, so I'd love to know if others have also had this after the flu...I feel really short of breath, and like my muscles are absolutely weak. It stinks. About 6 minutes into my shower on Wednesday, I was all wobbly and felt like I'd been running or something. Is this normal? I don't like it. Oh, and my stomach is still weird. I can't eat very much without feeling nauseous.

But on a good note, that was definitely the worst and grossest Wes has ever seen me, but he still says he loves me, so that's a plus.

Our beautiful Christmas tree is now SURROUNDED by beautiful Christmas gifts. Recession? Not according to our tree! Seriously, Ann has a shopping problem! ;)

I am almost done with my shopping, and it feels nice to be almost done so early...I am usually the type who gets a little done early, but then is still looking for things a day or two before Christmas. Not this year. I am totally gonna relax.

I just wish I didn't feel all weak and pukey now...boo.

Here are the few shots we took before my work Christmas party last week....before I got the black plague.  It was a nice evening, and my boyfriend's hot.

We had SO MUCH FUN at the New Kids on the Block concert last night!!

Natasha Bedingfield opened for them (she seems too big now to be an opener, I know, but she was awesome!) - then Lady Gaga came on - she's weird.

But then it was NKOTB time - and it may have been the most fun concert I've ever been to.  Everyone was standing, yelling, and dancing the entire time!  They were so entertaining - they did old songs and new songs, dances, talked to the audience some - it was great overall!  I'd totally see them again!

Here are a few pictures...I was too busy dancing during the actual show to take many, but I think I got one...

Outside the arena, before the show (freezing!)

they did some songs in the middle of the crowd...it was AWESOME.  they did "Tonight" (one of my favorite old songs) and "Dirty Dancing" (one of their really good new songs!) - and then Jon waved at us (me and Ann and a few others in our row were waving down, and he waved back and pointed - it was great.)

NKOTB 10

as you can tell...dancing, yelling....all the norm at these shows.  I am a little hoarse today.

Danny Wood's mother (betty wood) died of breast cancer a few years ago, so the New Kids are working with breast cancer awareness to help find a cure - hence, the shirt I bought, so proceeds go to their foundation. www.rememberbetty.org

Very nice 4th of July for us :)

We spent the beginning of the day at the Peachtree Road Race (no, I did not run, do you even know who I am?) - Wes and Ann ran it (the whole way!) and now, of course, competitive Wes wants to qualify and try to win next year.  And he wants to run a half marathon as well.  Geez. I'll post their pictures when they get them...

Then we went to Joe's on Juniper for lunch...all the gay people wanted Wes, of course.

Then I went to the pool for a bit...

Then we took MARTA (it's smarta) to Decatur.  Had dinner at Sage on Sycamore. then we sat on blankets on the square and watched fireworks, had ice cream, and messed around with sparklers...

Pictures below.

My work took everyone who works in our office to Andretti Karting for a play day - racing, rock wall, arcade, food, drinks, etc.  My job rocks.  Here are a few of us watching races.  The very tall guy in the Harley shirt is my #1 boss.

For those who don't know, Wes graduated yesterday (YAY!) -- first person in his family to get a college degree...and he got it in a different country, at that.  We're all very proud of him.  His family is here from (literally) all over the world (Zimbabwe, England, New Zealand, and a friend here from South Africa) -- most of them seeing America for the first time.  So this is quite a big trip for them, and a very special few weeks.

So to show some of everyone so far...(I don't have pictures of half the stuff they've been doing while I've been at work...golf, malls, aquarium, parks, etc!)

1

Ryan came from South Africa to see Wes.  And Wayne (right) is Wes's brother in law...this was at Ruby Tuesday, our first dinner all together.
